Fortunes of Aztec: what counts as clearing an entire reel?

Author —

Many symbols are lost in a tumble, but how many whole reels are completely cleared? That’s a different number. In Fortunes of Aztec, the documented multiplier event is linked to all symbols of a reel that are removed, not to each individual symbol.

Original slot concept: Fortunes of Aztec. Whole-reel-clear event versus the number of individual removed symbols. Not actual provider screenshot.
Original concept illustration, not a provider screenshot or evidence of a played round. Labels and numbers are for hypothetical examples. The graphic is only a four-position exercise for the complete/partial condition, not an assertion of the full actual game layout. There is no monetary payout or configured starting multiplier in the picture.

The entire reel is the qualifying unit

According to official Fortunes of Aztec overview, the winning symbols tumble. When all symbols from a reel are removed, there is a 1 × multiplier award on the total win. It can be triggered more than once within a spin.

So each reel needs to be checked before removal. The total of eight icons lost is not enough if it is not known how they are distributed in the columns. The condition is complete reel clear, not arbitrary count across the board.

Partial and complete: a small exercise

Only a hypothetical four-position column is used here to show the condition; this is not a full layout claim. In frame A, three positions are deleted and there is one symbol left. In frame B, all four positions are removed in the qualifying removal.

B is a qualifying reel-clear event, not four separate 1 × events. A is also not automatically qualifying even if there are big wins in other reels; documented complete condition is required on the reel being tested.

Count the event, not just the column identity

If reel X is cleared, filled with new symbols, and cleared again on the next qualifying tumble of the same spin, two events will be recorded. The second event is not missing because the same column is involved, and the two screenshots of the same removal are not two events.

Use the record with round ID, tumble index, reel identity, completeness and + 1 × event. When a refill is not detected in between, do not immediately count another empty-looking frame as a new clear. That might just be the same animation phase.

Event increments and settled awards are separate

Two confirmed qualifying clears in the exercise means two 1 × increments. We do not know from the example the configured starting multiplier or applicable award. So no final payout is calculated here.

In free spins, multipliers are persistent between spins according to the product page. For the actual monetary dispute, add the feature identity, counter before and after, raw win and final settled result. The completeness map is the first step; it is not a substitute for award history.
